I got a postcard for a free O'Reilly ebook at some event, and it was sitting on my desk until I read the sample chapter for Confessions of a Public Speaker by Scott Berkun. I've finished it – just… I must admit I was surprised (and flattered) to receive a freebie copy but never the less, I leapt at it when it arrived: Scott Bergun's “Confessions of a Public Speaker“. I've seen Scott speak a few times before, and he knows his stuff. Scott Berkun's Confessions Of A Public Speaker is the funniest book I've ever read about public speaking. It's also packed with useful information. In this book he expresses his personal opinion on the art of public speaking through a string of humorous behind-the-scenes stories and anecdotes based on his decade long personal experience as a public speaker. My first opportunity to speak to a large corporate crowd happened in 1998. He also provides tips on how to prevent and rectify several commonly repeated mistakes in public speaking.
